I am a freelance journalist with over a decade’s worth of experience reporting on news and current affairs on radio and local television. I am also a voice over artist and documentary maker.
The topics I am passionate about covering include mental health, with music and the arts coming in at a very close second.
I have always been fascinated by humans and their behaviour, but also what inspires them to create and live a fulfilled life with purpose and meaning.
But sadly, due to poor mental health in many cases, too many of us are stuck in a vicious cycle of negative thinking and unhelpful behaviours (that we may not even be fully aware of), taking us further and further away from our full potential.
So the idea behind this website is to inform, educate and inspire people, and reassure them that with a step in the right direction, support and guidance, anything is possible.
In addition I believe in the power of music and the arts to heal. I have trained in Indian classical music in the UK and have personally found this medium to be incredibly therepeutic. After a good few years of training I was also fortunate to have been given the opportunity to teach this art form to both children and adults, representing one of the largest centres for Indian arts and culture in the UK. I continue to practise and perform and aim to bring to the forefront the subject of mental health within the asian community, through events with music at its very heart.
